Elevation Beer Company Oil Man Imperial Stout now available in 12-ounce cans
For the first time in Elevation Beer Company history, the famed Oil Man Imperial Stout is available in cans.
PONCHA SPRINGS, CO— For the first time in Elevation Beer Company history, the famed Oil Man Imperial Stout is available in cans. Twelve-ounce four-packs of this Bourbon barrel-aged beauty and its Coconut sister are available through the season while supplies last.
Oil Man is a great beer to get introspective on life with, named after Elevation Founder Carlin Walsh’s grandfather who was a successful oil entrepreneur. It pours a deep black with an unbelievable coffee-colored head. Aromatics of sweet malt and bourbon envelop the nose. The malt profile continues through the palate from beginning to end with subtle hints of chocolate, coffee, and of course, bourbon.
Coconut Oil Man was aged with ten pounds per barrel of organic coconut, more than half of which was hand toasted to add rich, toasty notes to the beer.
Oil Man and Coconut Oil Man cans will be available in 4-packs of 12-ounce cans across Colorado this season.

Elevation Beer CO. Releases Fruited Spring Seasonals
Raspberry Gulch and Pineapple Acide are now available for a limited time in six packs of 12 oz. cans.
PONCHA SPRINGS, CO— Spring has sprung in the Arkansas River Valley and Elevation Beer Co. has released two fruit beers to celebrate the season. Raspberry Gulch and Pineapple Acide are now available for a limited time in six packs of 12 oz. cans across Colorado while supplies last.
Raspberry Gulch is a fruited Imperial Saison with a traditional yeast strain from Belgium and nearly 18 pounds of raspberries per barrel. Raspberry Gulch plucks that high altitude tart trailside raspberry and puts it right in your glass. With subtle notes of hay and a comfortable 7.5% ABV, this seasonal release is the perfect way to start your spring adventures.
The French translation of sour, Acide, is the brewery’s trip into the increasingly popular style of kettle soured beers and has since spawned several fruit variants including Peach, Pomegranate, Raspberry, and now the return and canned debut of Pineapple Acide as the first 2019 release in the series.
Brewed with lactobacillus and coming in at 4.5% ABV, Pineapple Acide is delicately balanced for an approachable level of puckering sourness, pleasant acidity, and a tart refreshing finish on the tongue. Lemony and floral aromas arise from a generous dose of Amarillo hops and meld with a subtle graininess making Pineapple Acide a hit with brewery staff and patrons alike.

Elevation Releases Turtles All The Way Up In Collaboration with Terrapin Beer Co.
Elevation Beer Company has collabaorated with Georgia’s Terrapin Beer Co. for a conceptual IPA.
PONCHA SPRINGS, CO— In February, Elevation Beer Company hosted Athens, Georgia’s Terrapin Beer Co. for a conceptual collaboration brew that pays homage to the progression of the hop. The collaboration, Turtles All the Way Up, is now available in six packs and on draft while supplies last.
From classic Cascade to Cryo TM Idaho-7, whole leaf to extract, first wort to dry hop— this beer experiments with the progression of hop varieties and their form. With a pint of this IPA in your hand we hope you can “go and try and have some fun, showing warmth to everyone.”
During the 2018 Craft Brewers Conference in Nashville, with the reunion of two old industry buddies, live music, and a few beers, a collaboration was formulated,” explains Elevation Sales Manager, Adam Kimball. “This winter, Terrapin President Dustin Watts came out to visit family, ride in Crested Butte, and make this collaboration a reality— what better way to bring Terrapin and Elevation together than through the connection of family, mountain life, and beer? It was a long time coming, and with CBC right around the corner it’s great to see this release come full circle.”
“The name, Turtles All the Way Up was inspired by the philosophical question of the infinite regress, Turtles All the Way Down, Sturgill Simpson, and an homage to Terrapin’s mascot,” explains Elevation’s Andy Astor. “We view Turtles All the Way Up as a progression instead of a regression, and wanted to demonstrate that with the different hops varieties used, their forms, and the phases of the brew during when they were use— all with progressions of their own.”
The four hop forms are a progression of the ingredient beginning at its most basic state of whole-leaf hops, to hop pellets, to a further modified liquid hop extract, and arriving at Cryo(tm) hops for the dry-hopping process. The hops themselves are also a progression starting with the all-time classic Cascade to the high alpha proprietary CTZ blend followed by juice bomb Mosaic variety and arriving at the tropical Idaho 7. This progression of hop varieties and forms are followed by a similar progression with the schedule— first wort, early kettle, late kettle and dry hopping additions.
This IPA is bright, with notes of pine, citrus, stone fruit, and gooseberry. Somewhat dry with solid malt backbone. Juicy enough for the present, resinous enough to reminisce upon.
Turtles All The Way Up will be available in canned 6-packs in Colorado and Wyoming while supplies last and is now available on draft at Elevation’s tasting room in Poncha Springs.

Elevation Beer Company Launches Distribution in Utah
Elevation Beer Co. is enjoying “Life Elevated” as they expand their distribution into The Beehive State via M&M Distributors.
PONCHA SPRINGS, CO— Elevation Beer Co. is enjoying “Life Elevated” as they expand their distribution into The Beehive State via M&M Distributors. Elevation is now available across Utah, the third state to be included in Elevation’s distribution footprint following the brewery’s expansion into Wyoming in 2018.
Select 6-packs of Elevation’s beers are available in state liquor stores including year-round core beers— 8 Second Kölsch and Elevation Pilsner— and special release 6-packs of Apis IV Honey Quadruple followed by Raspberry Gulch later in the season. Elevation plans to include additional year-round and specialty brands to their Utah distribution in the near future.
“One of my favorite memories was in Utah spending time with my best friend Blake in the Great Basin Desert staring at the La Sal mountains, reading Edward Abbey, and drinking questionable beer,” reminisces Elevation founder, Carlin Walsh. “We’re excited to be a part in creating similar memories for Utahns and visitors alike (minus the “questionable beer”). The state laws are challenging and anticompetitive at best, but we are up for the challenge to bring our beer to some of our favorite places. I cannot think of many other places as romantic to drink an 8 Second than while immersed the Utah desert and mountains.”
ABOUT 8 SECOND KÖLSCH
Head Brewer Christian Koch fell in love with this style of beer while visiting Cologne, Germany. Elevation 8 Second Kölsch is brewed to be a true representation of this easy drinking crisp ale. First brewed as a special beer for our local rodeo, it quickly became a hit. Now a staple in their core brand, 8 Second is perfect for an everyday craft beer.
ABOUT ELEVATION PILSNER
Elevation Pilsner pours light gold, with aromas of honeysuckle and German noble hops. Moderately dry and slightly bitter, this beer has all of the traits you have come to expect from a celebratory lager. It is fermented cold, in America, near mountains, using difficult procedures, and you know it is ready to drink when it is in your hand.

Elevation Beer Co. Releases their first Unclear IPA in Specialty 6 Packs of 12 oz. cans
Elevation Beer Co. releases their first dive into the world of Juicy Hazy IPAs
PONCHA SPRINGS, CO— The future of craft beer is unclear, and Elevation Beer Co. is embracing the haze with their latest special release and first dive into the world of Juicy Hazy IPAs. This special release IPA will be available on draft and in six packs of 12 oz. cans beginning Friday, January 15 across Elevation’s distribution footprint while supplies last.
Unclear IPA is crafted with a simple grain bill— Two Row, Crystal 15, rolled oats, and flaked oats— to give the explosion of topical hop varieties an appropriate canvas to strut their stuff. Huge late hop additions and over the top dry hop with Azacca and Eldorado hop varieties provide mango, pineapple and stone fruit flavors with a touch of bitterness from a tiny bit Centennial hops used in the boil.
“We love hops around here and we are really excited to be working with El Dorado and Azacca on this one,” says Elevation Co-Founder and Director of Brewing Operations, Christian Koch. “By keeping the grain bill on the lighter side, we really let the flavors of these two hops shine. We also cranked up the flaked grains, including flaked barley and flaked wheat, to higher levels than we ever have before. The result is super refreshing and drinkable beer a really pleasant body. A new brewer favorite!”

Elevation Beer Company Named The Official Brewery of Monarch Mountain
Elevation Beer Company and Monarch Mountain announce an ongoing partnership that includes the naming of Elevation as the Official Brewery of Monarch Mountain and vice versa.
PONCHA SPRINGS, CO— Elevation Beer Company and Monarch Mountain are pleased to announce an ongoing partnership that includes the naming of Elevation as the Official Brewery of Monarch Mountain and vice versa— Monarch Mountain as the Official Ski Area of Elevation Beer Co.
Elevation and Monarch Mountain have collaborated on promotions since the brewery opened in 2012 and this season will be no exception. Monarch will place Elevation’s logo on its trail maps; Elevation will don the Monarch logo on 12 oz. cans of Little Mo’—a porter named after a milk run of the same name at Monarch Mountain— and grant 15% off to Monarch season pass holders in their tasting room.
Elevation will kickoff Monarch Mountain’s opening with Ullrvation on Friday, November 23, at the Elevation tasting room. In folklore, this party is meant to please Ullr (the Norse god of snow, archery, and skiing) with ceremonial burning of skis and tempt the other snow gods (and Murphy’s Law). This celebration will include snow dances, car washing, and earning good snow karma by raising money for the Friends of CAIC. “Monarch is still all natural snow, no snow making guns,” explains Elevation’s Andy Astor. “We are dependent on Mother Nature and the snow gods for good winters, and we really really need one down here this season.”
The celebration will include beer, bonfires, and a shuttle service to Salida from the brewery if you pay honor to the snow gods a little too hard. The party will also host a raffle to benefit the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) and the Friends of CIAC with chances to win a season pass to Monarch Mountain, Elevation Beer Co. skis, GrassStick bamboo ski poles, and more.
“The ski industry and beer industry have some common threads, and are culturally pretty similar (lots of beards and general awesomeness),” explains Astor. “Both industries are seeing increased consolidation, which can affect consumers. Elevation is locally and independently owned and operated, as is Monarch. There is also a nice vibe of authenticity and inclusivity at both Monarch and in our taproom. We are proud to be the official brewery of Monarch Mountain.”
