Dark Sky Brewing Office Supplies Double Hazy IPA Gives School Supplies To Arizona Students
Office Supplies Double Hazy IPA will be released at Dark Sky Brewing on Friday, July 21 in tandem with the school supplies drive for Arizona Helping Hands. On Tuesday, August 1, a Dark Sky tap takeover at Gilbert’s Beer Barn will feature Office Supplies and another school supplies drive.
FLAGSTAFF and GILBERT, AZ— Before it became a brewery, Dark Sky Brewing’s original building on Beaver Street housed an office supplies store. To pay homage to this history and to give area students access to the school supplies they need, the brewery crafted Office Supplies Double Hazy IPA.
Office Supplies Double Hazy IPA will be released at Dark Sky Brewing on Friday, July 21 in tandem with the school supplies drive for Arizona Helping Hands. The beer will be available on tap and in cans to-go, as well as in cans across the brewery's Arizona distribution footprint.
On Tuesday, August 1, a Dark Sky tap takeover at Gilbert’s Beer Barn taproom and bottle shop will feature Office Supplies and some Are you smarter than a 5th grader? trivia too. Beer Barn will host a school supplies drive as well, with donations going to San Tan Elementary School.
Both supply drives go through the end of August. This effort is one of many monthly activities that the brewery’s nonprofit organization Dark Sky Community executes to support causes they care about.

Dark Sky Brewing Widens Reach Across Arizona Through Partnership With Quail Distributing
“Northern Arizona has a buzzing craft beer scene, with Dark Sky Brewing leading the way through their innovative and highly rated beers,” says Shawn Hillman with Quail Distributing.
FLAGSTAFF, AZ— Since joining the Quail Distributing portfolio in March, Dark Sky Brewing continues to expand its experimental craft beer footprint in Northern Arizona, across the Phoenix Valley, and the Tucson metropolitan area. Most recently their seven canned SKUs have become available at Arizona Total Wine locations.
This partnership is the product of several years of friendship between Dark Sky and Quail, as well as an expansion of the Dark Sky Production brewery. More production space allowed the Dark Sky team to package and distribute their seasonal mainstay SKUs - Vortices Hazy Double IPA, Pit Stop Lager, Best Friend Munich Helles, After Thoughts American Pale Ale, Westie West Coast IPA, Sacred Datura Triple IPA, and Rainy Daze Hazy IPA. Now they extend their reach to even more shelves with the addition of select Total Wine stores to their expanding vendor/partner list.
“Northern Arizona has a buzzing craft beer scene, with Dark Sky leading the way through their innovative and highly rated beers,” says Shawn Hillman with Quail Distributing.
“Expanding our seasonal mainstay SKUs down to the valley and Tucson has been a dream of ours for the past few years; customer demand fueled the brewery expansion and we were able to make it happen this year. We hope having our beers down in the valley and Tucson will spark a need for patrons to travel to our destination Flagstaff taproom for taproom-only fun,” add Ryan & Larami Sandlin from Dark Sky Brewing.
Use the beer finder on Dark Sky Brewing’s website homepage to locate their canned SKUs across Arizona. Dark Sky lovers can visit the tasting room to purchase these cans and taste many rotating draft-only beers too.

The Ska Lager Joins Canned Craft Lager Lineup at Ska Brewing
The Ska Lager joins Ska’s decorated and well-known canned lager family that includes Mexican Logger and its dark, winter sister Mexican-Style Lager Dark, Rue B. Soho Grapefruit Lager, and Ska Oktoberfest.
DURANGO, CO— Ska Brewing is psyched to present the next lager in its year-round canned lineup: The Ska Lager will debut at the brewery World Headquarters on Thursday, March 9 and hit shelves next week.
The Ska Lager came to fruition much like Ska Brewing’s OG craft Lager Mexican Logger circa 1999: the brewing team’s beer style of choice is clean, refreshing lager that can be sipped any time of year— or time of day.
The 4.8% ABV Ska Lager is a no-nonsense, snappy, crisp, bright, easy-drinking lager with the gentlest floral aroma lent from its additions of Tettnang and Bravo hops. It’s a beer that makes you want another beer.
The Ska Lager joins Ska’s decorated and well-known canned lager family that includes Mexican Logger and its dark, winter sister Mexican-Style Lager Dark, Rue B. Soho Grapefruit Lager, and Ska Oktoberfest.
Grab a can of The Ska Lager at its release party on Thursday, March 9 at Ska Brewing’s World Headquarters where Rob Webster will play live at 5pm.

Thirsty Monk Brewery Pairs Up with Tight Tacos in Hawthorne After Popular Food Truck Forced to Vacate Growler’s Taproom
Thirsty Monk will be closed February 8 - 28 as they welcome new foot partner Tight Tacos into their space. Thirsty Monk will reopen on February 29 with Thirsty Monk taps only, craft cocktails and of course, delicious tacos from Tight Tacos.
PORTLAND, OR— Thirsty Monk, brewer of Belgian-Rooted Modern Ales and operator of world-recognized craft beer bars, announced today it will welcome their friends at Tight Tacos Food Truck into the kitchen at their Hawthorne Street location after a landlord dispute led to the closing of Growler’s Taproom last week, leaving the street taco purveyor without a space.
“We’ve been searching for just the right food partner to share their passions with our Thirsty Monk Brewery patrons for a few months now,” says Barry Bialik, Thirsty Monk CEO. “When we heard about Tight Tacos possibly needing a new home, we reached out right away. Mark and I were able to put our entrepreneurial energies and synergies together and get to a 1am handshake emoji in just a matter of days. I’m so excited to help a neighbor business and be able to offer our patrons delicious tacos, while allowing us to focus our passions on what we are best at— beers and cocktails,” says Bialik.
Thirsty Monk will be closed February 8 - 28 so that Tight Tacos can move into their kitchen. To accommodate the new food partnership, Thirsty Monk will shed a few more remnants of its former European soccer bar vibe and incorporate elements of the Tight Tacos branding. The brewery taproom will reopen with Thirsty Monk taps only, craft cocktails and of course, delicious tacos from Tight Tacos.
“Since we started Tight Tacos in 2016, our goal has always been to use our food as a means of bringing people together to have a good time. And what better way to do that than with beer and tacos?” says Mark Cosio, owner at Tight Tacos .“The Tight Tacos team is extremely excited to be partnering with Thirsty Monk.” In addition to their new location at Thirsty Monk, Tight Tacos also has a brick and mortar shop at The Zipper.
Thirsty Monk has proudly served Portland’s Hawthorne neighborhood since its opening in summer 2018 on the corner of 32nd and Hawthorne Streets. Prior to the brewery closing for renovations with Tight Tacos, Thirsty Monk will offer special deals on coveted Belgian bottles.
