Living The Dream Brewing Wins Another Two Denver International Beer Competition Medals
Living The Dream Brewing was awarded two silver medals in the 2024 Denver International Beer Competition, bringing their total medal count in this program to 33 since 2015.
HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO— Living The Dream Brewing was awarded two silver medals in the 2024 Denver International Beer Competition (DIBC), bringing their total medal count in this program to 33 since 2015.
Living The Dream Oktoberfest and the Leopold Bros Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Velvet Stout took home silver medals from this international competition last month.
True to German style, Oktoberfest is a beautiful orange-copper color with a toasted, malty aroma; a touch of malt sweetness and light caramel on the palate— with a dry and refreshing finish. It was available in limited quantities for the fall season, and canned for the first time this year.
Leopold Bros. Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Velvet Stout is a local barrel edition of Living The Dream's Velvet Imperial Stout, aged on 8-year-old Bourbon barrels. The dark chocolate and roast of the Stout pairs perfectly with the oak, caramel, and toast character of these one-of-a-kind barrels— all rounded out by a smooth, rich mouthfeel. This Stout is currently available on draft and in canned 4-packs to-go while supplies last.
With hundreds of beers entered annually from across the globe, adjudicators certified by the Beer Judge Certification Program, and medals awarded based on total points; DIBC is a showcase of brewing excellence that Living The Dream’s brewing team is proud to have placed in year over year.
"Living The Dream has consistently been one of the top performers in the Denver International Beer Competition with multiple beers receiving medals each year,” says Competition Director Kyle Dobbins. “Their entries have advanced to best of show, and have consistently impressed the adjudicators. The beer from Living the Dream has set a bar for quality year after year, and they are a valued local brewery to have in the Denver International Beer Competition."

Barnett & Son Brewing Wins Big at the 2021 Denver International Beer Competition
Barnett & Son Brewing took home five medals at this year’s Denver International Beer Awards.
PARKER, CO — Barnett & Son Brewing was one of the most decorated breweries at the 2021 Denver International Beer Competition (DIBC) last week, taking home five medals that span a range of beer styles.
These wins come off the heels of many previous successes at DIBC. Barnett & Son’s winning streak began in 2016 with their Saoirse Irish Red Ale (a silver medalist this year) and has continued with multiple medals in 2018, 2019, and now in 2021.
This year’s medal winners are:
GOLD - Falling Skye Scottish Ale - Full of rich and malty character from special Gleneagles Maris Otter barley, imported from Scotland, and just a hint of whiskey. Falling Sky also won Bronze in 2018 and 2019.
SILVER - Oktoberfest Märzen - A rich and malty Lager with a balance of clean Hersbrucker hop bitterness.
SILVER - Nevermore Pumpkin Ale - A spiced Amber Ale, clean and malty with just enough hop bitterness to balance the spices - nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger - and of course, real pumpkin. This beer is gone for the season– look for it in 2022.
SILVER - Saoirse Irish Red Ale - A red and malty Irish-style Red Ale with approachable hop bitterness that rests on the palate. Saoirse also won silver in 2016 and 2019, and bronze in 2018.
BRONZE - Newlin Gulch Gold - A light, refreshing, and easy drinking Blond Ale.
All of these beers are currently available at the Barnett and Son tasting room.
