Living The Dream Brewing Presents Summer Seasonal Powder Run, Strawberry Lemonade

Living The Dream Strawberry Lemonade Powder Run was a crowd favorite during its soft tasting room release earlier this year, striking the perfect balance between sweet berries and zesty citrus.

COLORADO— Living The Dream Brewing just released the latest seasonal variant of its Powder Run Vanilla Cream Ale, Strawberry Lemonade. Find it on tap and available in canned 6-packs across Colorado this summer.

This recipe is made with real fruit additions, like all of the variants in this quarterly release series. Strawberry Lemonade was a crowd favorite during its soft tasting room release earlier this year, striking the perfect balance between sweet berries and zesty citrus.

“Our Powder Run is the perfect canvas for fruit additions, and this combination was an obvious choice for summertime,” says Jason Bell, Founder at Living The Dream Brewing. “Enjoy it while it lasts, and keep an eye out for future seasonal flavors.”

Strawberry Lemonade is freshly canned and available in Crowlers and growlers to-go at both Living The Dream locations in Highlands Ranch and Sterling Ranch, while supplies last. Find it in canned six-packs across Colorado via Colorado Craft Distributors.

10 Things To Know About Living The Dream Brewing On Their 10th Anniversary

In honor of each of their years crafting award-winning, community-oriented beer in the Centennial State, here are 10 things to know about Living The Dream Brewing.

HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO— Living The Dream Brewing will celebrate 10 years in business this weekend with a Hawaiian-themed, weekend-long luau. In honor of each of their years crafting award-winning, community-oriented beer in the Centennial State, here are 10 things to know about Living The Dream Brewing.

The Life You’ve Imagined Brewing Founder Jason Bell named the company after a favorite Henry David Thoreau quote: Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined. He chose the name because for many, living here in Colorado is living the dream. “With overwhelming natural beauty and an amazing beer culture,” he says, “we felt it perfectly fit what we were looking to create. We even use the last part, Live the life you have imagined, as a motto on all our products as it is symbolic to our commitment to independence, to craftsmanship and to quality.”

The Dream Team “Our team is incredible. They all take pride in what we have built and their part in it.” Bell says. This team consists of welcoming, knowledgeable beertenders, a talented and technically minded brewing team, and a rockstar leadership team including General Manager Michael Acerra, Head Brewer Rob Meehan, and Events & Social Media Manager Jayme Hillian.

Two Taprooms Late in 2023, Living The Dream moved brewing operations down Santa Fe Drive to Highlands Ranch and opened a second taproom in the Sterling Center in Littleton’s Sterling Ranch neighborhood. Both taprooms have Living The Dream’s latest releases on tap, beer for sale to-go, and loaded event calendars on a weekly basis. Read more about the move here

Quality Commitment  Living The Dream Brewing has earned many beer quality awards in the past decade, including several U.S. Beer Open awards and Can Can Awards, and a Great American Beer Festival© medal for the company flagship Powder Run. “Our head brewer Rob leads our dedicated brew team with a close eye on process and quality.” Meeham is also the Chair of the Technical & Education Committee of the Colorado Brewers Guild.

Culinary Influenced Bell’s culinary background has inspired many Living The Dream beer recipes, and more broadly a commitment to using real ingredients in beers and now seltzers— from fruit to herbs and spices and beyond.

New Seltzers Living The Dream’s new locations have allowed the brew team expanded capacity to craft a seltzer program with as much care as they do their beers. Tangerine, Grapefruit, and Cranberry Lime have all hit the taps over the past few months, and there are two new seltzers on tap for the anniversary weekend: Mixed Berry and Piña Colada.

Beer Finder Colorado residents and visitors can find cans of Living The Dream mainstay beers as well as canned seasonals across the Centennial State year round. Living The Dream joined Colorado Craft’s portfolio of independent beverage brands distributed across Colorado in 2022.

Camera To Can When you’re shopping for living The Dream cans, take note of the artwork— each is an original photograph, most of which were taken by the brewery’s General Manager Acerra.

Dog Lovers Living the Dream really loves dogs. They’re welcome inside and on the patio, plus guests are encouraged to enter the brewery’s monthly Dog of the Month program that gives discounts and internet fame for the humans of the brewery’s four-legged regulars.

A Community Hub Community connections and philanthropic efforts matter deeply to Living The Dream, who regularly host countless fundraisers for causes that count to their customers. Among many organizations with longstanding partnerships with the brewery are the Highlands Ranch Community Association and their Backcountry Wilderness Fund.

Congratulations to Living The Dream Brewing on a successful first decade, and cheers to the next 10 years.

Living The Dream Brewing Taps Horchata Powder Run Cream Ale

The 2024 batch of Living The Dream Brewing Horchata Powder Run Cream Ale is now on tap and available in canned 6-packs across Colorado.

LITTLETON, CO— The 2024 batch of Living The Dream Brewing Horchata Powder Run Cream Ale will tap tomorrow, and be available in canned 6-packs across Colorado soon.

Horchata is a seasonal variant of the award-winning Powder Run Cream Ale, a light bodied, creamy beer with notes of vanilla and a fluffy finishing mouthfeel. It gets a boost of spicy cinnamon from Colorado’s own Savory Spice Shop and milk sugar to create flavors of the traditional milk-based Mexican drink, Horchata, that’s made with cinnamon and sugar.

“We found most Horchata themed beers to be Stouts and Porters, and felt the adaptation of our Powder Run Vanilla Cream Ale would be a better canvas for the traditional Horchata flavor profile we were looking for,” says Jason Bell, Living The Dream Brewing Founder. “Plus, it allowed us to feature the highest quality cinnamon from Savory Spice, one of our favorite companies to source ingredients from.”

Just in time for Cinco de Mayo weekend, Horchata Powder Run is available on draft and in Crowlers and cans to-go at Living The Dream. On Saturday, Motor City B’s will serve an Elote Pizza you don’t want to miss.

Find Horchata Powder Run in limited canned six-packs across Colorado via Colorado Craft Distributors.

Living The Dream Brewing Reports Expansion and Philanthropy Numbers for 2021

Living The Dream Brewing Company is coming off of its best sales year yet, which included the introduction of many new SKUs to the Colorado beer marketplace.

LITTLETON, CO— Living The Dream Brewing Company is coming off of its best sales year yet, which included the introduction of many new SKUs to the Colorado beer marketplace. The brewery was proud to expand its team and continue to serve its community amid the pandemic climate with great beer and philanthropic efforts. Behold, the 2021 Living The Dream Brewing Year in Review.

PRODUCTION & SALES

2020’s installation of a Forgeworks 15 BBL brewhouse, an Alpha Brewing Operations canning line, and a Ska Fabricating Half Pint depalletizer allowed Living The Dream to expand sales, distribution, and capacity in 2021. The addition of new tanks in 2021 continued that expansion, and allowed Living the Dream to experience a massive growth in production.

Living the Dream surpassed 2000 BBL in 2021, a 33% growth from the previous year. Their wholesale numbers grew 80+%. In this focus on wholesale operations, they added sales representatives and grew their overall footprint.

TEAM

Living The Dream Brewing continued to expand the Living The Dream team, which is now up to 14 employees. Thanks to the commitment of their staff to take changes in their stride, the brewery was fortunate enough to not lay off any employees through COVID-19 restrictions.

BEER

Living the Dream Brewing released numerous beers on tap in 2021, including fresh variants of the award-winning Powder Run Vanilla Cream Ale, canned Fly Reel Amber and Mountain Drive, and the first-ever can in their Cocktail Series— a Barrel Aged Old Fashioned American Strong Ale.

Living The Dream partnered with the Highlands Ranch, Colorado Whole Foods location to release a small batch of an experimental IPA: Zap! Smash! that was available in the fall for a short time. Living the Dream plans to continue their partnership with Whole Foods this year.

ACCOLADES

Living The Dream Brewing was honored at the 2021 Can Can Awards with not one, but three medals. 7 Speed IPA took home gold in the American IPA category, Ice Climber Double IPA was awarded silver in the Double IPA category, and Powder Run Cream Ale took silver in the Fruit, Herb, and Spice category.

Living the Dream also received seven total awards in the 2021 Denver International Beer Competition. Their Ice Climber Double IPA, Barrel Aged Barleywine, and Powder Run Vanilla Cream Ale were gold medal winners. Fly Reel Amber Ale, 7 Speed IPA, Rock Climber IPA, and Stubborn Monk Belgian Dubbel were all honored with silver medals.

COMMUNITY

Living The Dream’s continued its partnership with the Highlands Ranch Community Association, which included the Backcountry Wilderness Wheat and the Midnight Trail Cam Wheat beer collaborations, and Beer For Bucks night with donations for each pint sold. In total, the brewery donated $3,137 to the association in 2021— a 20 percent increase from 2020’s contributions.

“We also sponsor and support the Highlands Ranch Race Series and donate to many local fundraisers,” said Living the Dream owner Jason Bell. “Community support is critical to us.”

MOVING FORWARD

2022 is underway at Living the Dream with fresh beer releases and events like Monday trivia, Bend & Brew yoga, and monthly Rotating Tap comedy night. The brewery’s partnership with the Highlands Ranch Community Association is among their community priorities, along with the continued Beer For Bucks program on the third Thursday of each month.

Customers can also look forward to the return of the brewery’s barrel-aged beer showcase, and the company’s 8th anniversary celebration this summer.

Living The Dream fans should be on alert for new Powder Run variants and new canned recipes in 2022.

Living the Dream Brewing Welcomes Barrel Aged Old Fashioned Ale to Ongoing Cocktail Series

This cocktail-inspired beer is made with treacle, cherries, and oranges, and blended with Living the Dream’s Strong Ale for a subtly sweet richness at the finish.

LITTLETON, CO– Living the Dream Brewing Co. has been working hard on a new and delicious addition to their Cocktail Series: Barrel Aged Old Fashioned Ale.

This cocktail-inspired beer is made with treacle, cherries, and oranges, and blended with Living the Dream’s Strong Ale for a subtly sweet richness at the finish. It’s a slow sipper that warms you from your head to your toes, perfect for hunkering down in the Colorado snow.

This new brew marks the third beer in Living the Dream’s cocktail series, preceded by a Moscow Mule, Mojito, and Margarita inspired beers. While all of those options were available in the tasting room only, this Old Fashioned is on tap and available in cans.

“We wanted to do something inventive and classic all at the same time,” Living The Dream owner Jason Bell says. “We were fortunate to get some great barrels from a local distillery and felt the flavor profile would work well, blending the fruits with the whiskey barrel influences.”

Living the Dream Brewing’s Festivus Fireside Barrel Aged Olde Ale is Back for the Season

A Festivus for the rest of us! It’s that time of year again, and Living the Dream Brewing is bringing back a festive favorite just in time for the holidays: their Festivus Fireside Barrel Aged Olde Ale.

LITTLETON, CO – A Festivus for the rest of us! It’s that time of year again, and Living the Dream Brewing is bringing back a festive favorite just in time for the holidays: their Festivus Fireside Barrel Aged Olde Ale.

Inspired by the classic Seinfeld episode, this beer is a delicious combination of old-world flavors and subtle sweetness. In the first step of a two step process, Festivus is brewed with English black treacle and aged a whopping 386 days in Premium Bourbon Barrels for authentic olde ale flavor. Then, it’s blended with a beer brewed with dark specialty malts, oats, and more black treacle. The combination of these two brews gives it a well-rounded, full body and complex flavor, all without sacrificing the oak, bourbon, and dark fruit character from the barrel aging.

“We have been making versions of Festivus Fireside Ale off and on since 2015,” said owner Jason Bell. “The core recipe has stayed pretty consistent, but we would play around with the wood treatments, and this year we really feel like it is our best version yet.”

Rounding out at 9% ABV, Festivus is deceptively smooth and drinkable, with just enough of that warm, wood-aged flavor to heat you up on the frosty nights ahead.

Festivus Fireside is available in the tap room and in 12 oz cans for a limited time, so be sure to swing by and sip yourself some non-denominational holiday cheer while you still can.

For more information about Festivus Fireside or Living The Dream Brewing, contact Emily Hutto hutto@radcraftbeer.com

Midnight Trail Cam Wheat From Living The Dream Brewing Is The Next Beer for the Backcountry Conservation & Education Fund

Living The Dream Brewing partnership with Highlands Ranch Community Association to fundraise for local wildlife habitat improvement.

Midnight Wheat.jpg

LITTLETON, CO— Support the ongoing Living The Dream Brewing partnership with Highlands Ranch Community Association with a sip of the next beer in their collaboration series, Midnight Trail Cam Wheat. This dark rendition of Backcountry Wilderness Wheat, the first beer that Living The Dream brewed to support the Backcountry Conservation & Education Fund, debuted this week.

Midnight Trail Cam is a great “introduction dark beer” for people who don’t usually drink Porters and Stouts, says Jamie Gonzalez, who created the recipe. “This a great transition from winter to spring beer,” she adds.

“Jamie has a background as a pastry chef, which resonates with my food background too,” says Living The Dream owner Jason Bell. “Jamie’s background inspired her to create this beer with flavors of creamy chocolate and hints of dark roasted coffee.  It reminds me a bit of a dark chocolate bar and does not have any of the bitterness which can be found in most Stouts.”

Midnight Trail Cam Wheat is part of an ongoing collaboration beer series that supports the nonprofit arm of HRCA Backcountry Wilderness Area in Highlands Ranch, one of the brewery’s time-honored partnerships.

Find Midnight Trail Cam Wheat at Living The Dream’s tasting room in Littleton while supplies of this limited batch are available. Ten percent of sales will be donated to the Backcountry Conservation & Education Fund that directly supports wildlife habitat improvements and opportunities for people in Living the Dream Brewing Co.’s local community to engage in environmental education.
