Lone Tree Brewing Launches Storied Beer Series in Cans

Lone Tree Brewing unveils the first two beers from their Branching Out and Hoppy Little Trees Project series in cans.

Centennial IPA + Pineapple Sour-1320792.jpg

LONE TREE, CO— Lone Tree Brewing will be unveiling the first two beers from their Branching Out and Hoppy Little Trees Project series in cans. The move to discontinue their 22-oz bomber program in favor of 12-oz cans is just one part of the evolution of Lone Tree’s growth trajectory for 2019.

Last year, the brewery increased brewhouse production by 40 percent, year-over-year. The increase in production led to the addition of four new 40 BBL fermentation tanks, as well as a new can labeling machine.

“With the addition of a labeling machine for small batch canning runs, we will be able to bring some of our more experimental beers to thirsty beer drinkers across our distribution networks in a more portable format,” says Dennis Stack, Director of Sales and Marketing at Lone Tree Brewing Company.

Pineapple Sour, the brewery’s first beer coming out of the Branching Out series, will make its debut in the Lone Tree tasting room just in time for Memorial Day weekend. At a sessionable 4.5 percent ABV, this refreshingly crisp blonde ale is tart with a subtle pineapple finish. Only available in cans, this sour is perfect for any outdoor activity.

The Pineapple Sour belongs to Lone Tree’s Branching Out series of small-batch, specialty beers. Pineapple Sour follows Bière de Printemps and India Pale Lager in the Branching Out series, though this refreshing sour is the first to debut in cans, which includes refreshed artwork from the brewery’s rebrand via Anthem Branding.

Lone Tree will also release a Centennial IPA for the Hoppy Little Trees Project, in cans in June. This is the sixth beer to come out of the fresh year-round rotating IPA series and the first of its kind to be released in cans.

“We have seen great success from canning our Double IPA but one thing missing from our canned options was a single IPA,” explains Stack. “The Hoppy Little Trees Project adds this to our offering and expands upon it with the rotating IPA style concept. This series will always be an IPA but will rotate not just the hops, but the type of IPA.”

At 6.8 percent ABV, this single hop IPA features Centennial hops, which boasts citrus aromas. A pleasant hop bitterness rounds out this highly drinkable, full-flavored IPA.

Canned six-packs of both beers will be available across Colorado while supplies last.

For more information about Lone Tree Brewing Company or these new releases, contact Chea Franz at chea@radcraftbeer.com.

Ska Brewing Announces 24th Anniversary Invitational Music Lineup feat. Mustard Plug, The Toasters, and The Aggrolites

Ska Brewing’s 24th anniversary will feature a triple threat of punk and ska bands.

DURANGO, CO— Ska Brewing’s 24th annual anniversary invitational will feature a triple threat of punk and ska bands— Mustard Plug, The Toasters,  and The Aggrolites— to play on Saturday, September 7 at the company’s World Headquarters in Durango, Colorado.

Kicking off the celebration is Mustard Plug, a 22-year-old punk-influenced Ska band from the midwest that most recently debuted their new album Can’t Contain It.

Next up is The Toasters, who will return to Durango for the third time. This OG third-wave ska band from NYC circa 1981 played their time-honored classics from albums like Skaboom and Thrill Me Up at Ska’s 16th and 21st anniversary celebrations.

Then to perform are The Aggrolites, a compilation of two bands, one reggae and one ska in genre, that came together in Los Angeles in 2002 to create the soul and funk-inspired “dirty reggae music” that they’re known for.

“Our anniversary party is my favorite day of the year, and it only gets better with age,” says Ska Brewing Sales & Marketing Director Kristen Muraro. “It brings together all of our brewery friends with some of our favorite bands, and gives us a chance to celebrate with all of our fans.”

Tickets for the Ska Brewing 24th Anniversary Invitational will go on sale on June 3, and Ska will announce the list of their brewery friends that will pour at the celebration later this summer.

Funkwerks Welcomes Spring with Provincial Series and Sour-themed Merch

Funkwerks celebrates Spring in full swing with an array of sour beers packed full of funk and fruit.

FunkFlights Tasters-1.jpg

FORT COLLINS, CO— Funkwerks celebrates Spring in full swing with an array of sour beers packed full of funk and fruit. Now available on draft and select packaging, Funkwerks’ Provincial series, an ongoing lineup of sour fruit beers, currently includes Apricot, Pineapple, Passion Fruit, and Raspberry Provincial— all of which are included in the breweries latest version of their in-house Sour Snack Pack flight.

Brewed utilizing a unique 24-hour warm souring technique using lactobacillus in the wort and featuring rotating fruit additions, Funkwerks’ Provincial series is part of the brewery’s Boutique Line and are available in bottles and draft in limited runs.

Raspberry Provincial is available year-round across the brewery’s 13 state distribution footprint in 6 packs of 12 oz. bottles and on draft. Raspberry Provincial was the beer to first kick off the series as a delicious creation that was truly a product of creativity, ingenuity, and luck. In the summer of 2013 Funkwerks took a test batch of their sessionable sour summer ale, Provincial, that didn’t quite hit gravity and decided to have some fun with it by adding a heavy dose of raspberries. The end result was so delicious, the brewery ended up brewing it year-round, to this day. This delightfully tart fruit beer is refreshing, with notes of lemon, bright raspberries, and a citrusy berry aroma which transitions to a subtly sweet and tart finish.

Passion Fruit Provincial is available on draft in the taproom and in very limited amounts outside of Colorado. In 12 oz. bottles it is only available in Funkwerks’ latest version of their variety 12 packs, Winky’s Snack Pack. This beer is full of tropical fruit flavors and bright aromatics. Beginning with the classic light, sessionable, sour ale, Funkwerks added fresh passion fruit to play off of their Belgian yeast’s naturally occurring fruity esters and contribute additional tartness. Transport yourself to sunny days and good times with this tropical, refreshing beer packed with notes of mango and tart citrus.

Apricot Provincial, available on draft at the brewery’s tasting room, is Funkwerks’ sessionable Belgian-style sour ale with a citrusy apricot aroma that transitions into a subtly sweet and tart finish.

Pineapple Provincial is now available in 6 packs of 12-ounce bottles across Colorado and on draft in select markets across Funkwerks’ distribution footprint including Colorado, Southern California, Minnesota, and Missouri. Good for more than just alliteration, Pineapple Provincial is a tart, light-bodied, tropical beer with notes of lemon zest and pineapple that give the apricot and raspberry variants of the Provincial series a run for their money.

The fun doesn’t stop at the liquid. For those who want more, Funkwerks has created a line of funky and sour bacteria-inspired merchandise available in the tasting room and online at Winky’s Warehouse online store at funkwerks.com, including:

Funky Water Bottles
Sour Fruit Goblet Glasses
Funky Bacteria Socks
Limited Edition Pocket Tees with patterned pocket
Funky Bandanas
Bottle Sweaters

Karl Strauss and Cervecería Colorado Release Cajeta Borracha in Denver

Karl Strauss Brewing Company and Cerveceria Colorado present an English Mild brewed with plantains.

P1290253.JPG

DENVER, CO— Karl Strauss Brewing Company and Cervecería Colorado collaborated together to brew an English Mild called Cajeta Borracha during CBC week in Denver, Colorado. This beer, brewed with roasted plantains, cinnamon bark, vanilla beans, and Cajeta, will tap today, Friday May 10, at Cervecería Colorado.

Even with more than 35 years of brewing experience between them, Jason Beuhler, the head brewer at Cervecería Colorado, and Paul Segura, Brewmaster of Research and Development at Karl Strauss Brewing Company, had never brewed with plantains before this collaboration.=

The decision to make such a unique flavor profile for the brew began with Beuhler’s recent trip to Mexico.

“We wanted to use a unique combination of ingredients to create a flavor profile inspired by Mexico,” said Beuhler. “I brought back the cinnamon bark from a recent trip to Mexico and I've eaten roasted plantains served by street vendors there before. We thought the combination of cinnamon and plantain would be great with cajeta which is commonly used in mexican candy.”

Segura looked at the ingredients and suggested the English Mild as a base style to compliment the cajeta flavor and finish with the plantains and cinnamon.

Cajeta Borracha will be released Friday, May 10 at Cervecería Colorado, located at 1635 Platte Street in Denver.

For more information about Karl Strauss Brewing Company or with any media inquiries, contact Emily Hutto at coop@radcraftbeer.com.

ABOUT CAJETA BORRACHA

Stats: 4.6% ABV
Base: English Mild
Special Ingredients: Roasted plantains, Ceylon Cinnamon bark from Veracruz, Vanilla beans, and Cajeta
This collaboration between Cervecería Colorado and Karl Strauss Brewing in San Diego features a delightful combination of dessert infused flavors of Mexico. The base beer of an English Mild is made with brown and caramel malts. Roasted plantains were added to the mash for a hint of banana and the beer was fermented with cajeta, which is a goat’s milk caramel closely related to dulce de leche, commonly found in Mexican candies. Aging on ceylon cinnamon bark from Veracruz and vanilla beans brings the flavors together for a delightful caramel treat. Salud!

Superhero Collaboration Beer with Odyssey Beerwerks, Odd13 Brewing, and Cannonball Creek to be released on Free Comic Book Day 5/4/19

Odyssey Beerwerks, Odd13 Brewing, and Cannonball Creek Brewing have teamed up and brewed a pale ale called 3 Superheroes Walk Into A Brewery.

Group_photo_Odyssey.png

ARVADA, COLORADO – To celebrate their shared love of comic books, Odyssey Beerwerks, Odd13 Brewing, and Cannonball Creek Brewing have teamed up and brewed a pale ale, 3 Superheroes Walk Into A Brewery.

“Two of my greatest passions in life are beer and comic books,” says Chris Hill of Odyssey Beerwerks. “Getting to combine the two, in collaboration with friends at two other well respected breweries who share the same passions is something we’ve talked about doing for a long time. This beer is awesome!”

Comic book fans and beer fans alike can get their hands on draft pints and limited released 12 oz. cans of this collaboration at all three breweries during Free Comic Book day on Saturday, May 4.

“This beer is loaded with Amarillo, Galaxy, and Sabro hops, giving it supercharged floral, tropical, and citrus characteristics,” says Ryan Scott of Odd13 Brewing. “It’s a pale ale with extra special hop powers.”

A limited number of t-shirts commemorating the beer release will be available for purchase at all three breweries on May 4 as well as free comic books supplied by Mile High Comics.

“Beer and comic books have a symbiotic relationship,” says Jason Stengl of Cannonball Creek Brewing. “Both are forms of art and expression, and both have a little something for everyone.” In his pre-brewing life, Stengl worked for Mile High Comics. Collecting comics is still one of his passions.

Odyssey, Odd13, and Cannonball might not save the world with beer and free comic books, but they’re sure going to try.

For more information about this collaboration and beer release, contact Deana Hill at deana@odysseybeerwerks.com

Bonfire Brewing Celebrates Grand Opening of Eagle River Park

The Eagle Whitewater Park is set to officially open following a ribbon cutting ceremony during Memorial Day Weekend.

_MG_5481.jpg

EAGLE, CO— Bonfire Brewing is proud to celebrate the opening of Eagle Colorado’s River Park Project. Sponsored in part by Bonfire Brewing, The Eagle Whitewater Park is set to officially open following a ribbon cutting ceremony during Memorial Day Weekend, just days before the Bonfire Block Party, an annual three-day music and street festival put on by the brewery and Optimum Events, in downtown Eagle. Even with Eagle River flows just beginning to rise, whitewater enthusiasts are already surfing the newly installed features, which range from beginner to advanced.

Bonfire Brewing is a Class IV sponsor for the park, and made one of the first private donations to the project that includes four world-class whitewater features and an adjacent park area on the north side of the Eagle River. Bonfire’s contribution supports ongoing work to construct additional amenities and secures the naming rights for the Bonfire Brewing Fire Pit, that will serve as a central hub for the park.

The Eagle River Park is located along the Eagle River near the Eagle County Fair and Rodeo Grounds and a short walk from Bonfire Brewing across the river. The project was one of the first initiatives that Bonfire Brewing Owner & Co-Founder, Andy Jessen worked on as a member of Eagle’s Board of Trustees when he was elected in 2014.

For more information about The Eagle River Park project, visit eagleoutside.com/riverpark. If you would like more information about Bonfire Brewing’s local involvement, contact Emily Hutto at coop@radcraftbeer.com.

Elevation Beer CO. Releases Fruited Spring Seasonals

Raspberry Gulch and Pineapple Acide are now available for a limited time in six packs of 12 oz. cans.

IMG_2354.JPG

PONCHA SPRINGS, CO— Spring has sprung in the Arkansas River Valley and Elevation Beer Co. has released two fruit beers to celebrate the season. Raspberry Gulch and Pineapple Acide are now available for a limited time in six packs of 12 oz. cans across Colorado while supplies last.

Raspberry Gulch is a fruited Imperial Saison with a traditional yeast strain from Belgium and nearly 18 pounds of raspberries per barrel. Raspberry Gulch plucks that high altitude tart trailside raspberry and puts it right in your glass. With subtle notes of hay and a comfortable 7.5% ABV, this seasonal release is the perfect way to start your spring adventures.

The French translation of sour, Acide, is the brewery’s trip into the increasingly popular style of kettle soured beers and has since spawned several fruit variants including Peach, Pomegranate, Raspberry, and now the return and canned debut of Pineapple Acide as the first 2019 release in the series.

Brewed with lactobacillus and coming in at 4.5% ABV, Pineapple Acide is delicately balanced for an approachable level of puckering sourness, pleasant acidity, and a tart refreshing finish on the tongue. Lemony and floral aromas arise from a generous dose of Amarillo hops and meld with a subtle graininess making Pineapple Acide a hit with brewery staff and patrons alike.

For more information about Elevation Beer Company and their fruited seasonal releases contact Emily Hutto at coop@radcraftbeer.com.

Crafted ERP Teams Up with CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) to Help Simplify Brewery Management

Crafted ERP and CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) are pleased to announce a pilot program designed specifically for breweries with limited resources.

DENVER, CO— Managing a brewery may just have gotten a whole lot easier. Crafted ERP and CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) are pleased to announce a pilot program designed specifically for breweries with limited resources. The new program combines the best of both worlds: 1) terrific brewery management software with 2) professional bookkeeping services.

The combined approach will allow customers to focus on beer production while outsourcing the back-office accounting functions to industry professionals who are well-versed on how a brewery should operate. Designed specifically for breweries with minimal or inexperienced back-office resources, the program promotes professional business operations and reporting. The program will also provide for the easy delivery of other pertinent services such as tax, audit, and consulting. Once a brewery has grown to the point where it needs its own back-office, it can “graduate” from the program and can continue to use the software in its entirety without the outsourced services, or it can retain the outsourcing services that it needs on an a la carte basis and in-source the rest.

Crafted ERP’s BPO Edition is a cloud-native solution built specifically for the brewing industry. The software incorporates everything that an emerging brewery requires with built-in leading practices to ensure professional level operations. Users are able to perform their job function from any device with a browser and an internet connection, and role-specific dashboards allow users to focus only on what they need to get done each day.

“We are excited to kickoff this initiative with CLA to offer the ultimate experience for the brewing industry. CLA’s vast experience in the craft beverage space makes them the ideal group to work with. The combination of best-in-class software with best-in-class professional services is going to change the game. Now even smaller breweries are going to have access to the same tools and capabilities usually reserved for the largest breweries in the country,” said Jeremy King, Co-Founder of Crafted ERP.

“The right software approach is so critical to spending less time crunching numbers and more time doing what makes breweries money – brewing, marketing, and distributing great beer!” said Marcus Bowman, a CLA outsourced CFO who specializes in the brewing industry.  “Partnering with Crafted ERP is going to allow us to leverage our industry knowledge into helping breweries grow rather than spend all of our time helping clients to cobble systems together and wondering when is the right time to take the leap to a true ERP system.  Crafted ERP’s scalability can make worry about those transitions a thing of the past.”

ABOUT CRAFTED ERP

Crafted ERP is the only end-to-end business management solution created to meet the specific requirements of batch manufacturers. Designed with input from seasoned industry veterans, Crafted ERP leverages the fastest growing cloud-based ERP system, NetSuite, to create a foundational platform from which customers can achieve scalable growth while incorporating industry leading practices.
