ABOUT SAISON
Belgian-Style Ale, 6.8%
With a recipe born from backyard test batches, the Saison that sits before you today is a GABF gold-medal winning beer. Heavily reliant on flavors and aromas generated by our house yeast, this beer exemplifies the care we take in every aspect of Funwkerks’ brewing process. Go ahead and delight in the Saison’s beautiful orange hue and bright effervescence. Notes of passion fruit, tangerine, and spices. Pairs well with high fives.
ABOUT TROPIC KING
Imperial Saison, 8.0% ABV
Originally designed to be a hoppier version of the brewery’s flagship Saison, the accidental (but fortuitous) addition of two extra bags of Munich malt balanced the hop creating this very unique Imperial Saison. Notes of passion fruit, mango, peach, ginger and pepper. Pairs well with hula hooping.
ABOUT WHITE
Belgian-Style Wheat Ale with Spices, 4.8%
Rooted in Belgian tradition, this refreshing wheat ale, or witbier, is our interpretation of a classic style. Its hazy pale color and creamy white head result from the ample amounts of wheat used in the recipe. The addition of raw oats contributes to a smooth mouthfeel while the Belgian yeast imparts a complex yet dry finish. Notes of orange zest and lemon with hints of spice. Pairs well with secret handshakes.
ABOUT RASPBERRY PROVINCIAL
Sour Ale Brewed with Raspberries, 4.2%
This delicious creation was truly a product of creativity, ingenuity, and luck. In the summer of 2013 Funkwerks took a test batch of their sessionable sour summer ale, Provincial, that didn’t quite hit gravity and decided to have some fun with it by adding a heavy dose of raspberries. The end result was so delicious, they ended up brewing it year-round. This delightfully tart fruit beer is refreshing, with a citrusy berry aroma which transitions to a subtly sweet and tart finish. Notes of lemon zest and tart raspberries.
ABOUT PINEAPPLE PROVINCIAL
Sour Ale Brewed with Pineapple, 4.2%
Pineapple Provincial is a tart, light-bodied, tropical beer with notes of lemon zest and pineapple that give the apricot and raspberry variants of the Provincial series a run for their money.
ABOUT RHUBERRY PROVINCIAL
Sour Ale Brewed with Strawberry and Rhubarb, 4.2%
Combines freshly picked rhubarb with bright, juicy strawberries to create a tart, fruity, and sessionable sour ale with rhubarb and strawberry. This beer is the pie-fect libation for any season. One sip and you’ll be transported back in time to your grandma’s porch swing while aromas of cooling pie waft around you in the warm breeze. Notes of ripe strawberries and tart rhubarb. Pairs well with cheek pinches.
ABOUT SAISON d’BRETT
Foudre-Aged Saison Ale with Brett, 7.6%
This crisp, dry, saison was aged for six months in Funkwerks’ 800-gallon oak foudre. The fruity aromas and spice flavors are derived from the brettanomyces and wild yeast previously inoculated inside the foudre. Warming flavors of ripened fruit and funky brett contribute to this beer’s bright complexity. Notes of fresh pineapple, tropical fruit, and wet hay.
Funkwerks’ beer is now available in select locations across Colorado, Arizona, Texas, Minnesota, Missouri, California, Nevada, Ohio, Kentucky, Chicago, New York City, New Jersey, and now Kansas.

Raspberry Provincial is available year-round across the brewery’s 13 state distribution footprint in 6 packs of 12 oz. bottles and on draft. Raspberry Provincial was the beer to first kick off the series as a delicious creation that was truly a product of creativity, ingenuity, and luck. In the summer of 2013 Funkwerks took a test batch of their sessionable sour summer ale, Provincial, that didn’t quite hit gravity and decided to have some fun with it by adding a heavy dose of raspberries. This delightfully tart fruit beer is refreshing, with notes of lemon, bright raspberries, and a citrusy berry aroma which transitions to a subtly sweet and tart finish.
Passion Fruit Provincial is available on draft in the taproom and in very limited amounts outside of Colorado. In 12 oz. bottles it is only available in Funkwerks’ latest version of their variety 12 packs, Winky’s Snack Pack. This beer is full of tropical fruit flavors and bright aromatics. Beginning with the classic light, sessionable, sour ale, Funkwerks added fresh passion fruit to play off of their Belgian yeast’s naturally occurring fruity esters and contribute additional tartness. Transport yourself to sunny days and good times with this tropical, refreshing beer packed with notes of mango and tart citrus.
Apricot Provincial, available on draft at the brewery’s tasting room, is Funkwerks’ sessionable Belgian-style sour ale with a citrusy apricot aroma that transitions into a subtly sweet and tart finish.

Funkwerks White Now Available in 6-Packs Year Round
Funkwerks is proud to release White in 6-packs and on draft across the brewery’s distribution beginning in March.
FORT COLLINS, CO— Following an exclusive release in the latest iteration of Winky’s Snack Packs, Funkwerks is proud to release White in 6-packs and on draft across the brewery’s distribution beginning in March.
Refreshing and crisp, White is a Belgian-style Wit, pale in color and opaque with a creamy white head as a result of ample amounts of wheat used in the recipe. The addition of raw oats gives this brew a smooth mouthfeel while providing a clean, dry finish. Brewed to be an easy-drinking 4.8% ABV and an optimal thirst-quencher, White is delicately balanced with a perfect blend of spices which accentuate its Belgian yeast characteristics.
In 1995, Funkwerks Co-founder and Head Brewer, Gordon Schuck spent the majority of his time bike racing and little time drinking flavorful beers. During this time, a close friend introduced him to Celis White, a Belgian-style witbier with origins in the revival of the style through the US. Celis was the first beer that really stood out to Schuck and helped spark his passion for craft beer. In 2003 Schuck began home brewing with an attempt to recreate Celis White as his first recipe.
Meanwhile, Funkwerks Co-founder and President, Brad Lincoln was traveling around the US stopping at various different breweries and trying all the beers he could. While at a small brewery in Bozeman, MT, Lincoln noticed that everyone in the brewery was drinking the same white ale. He asked the beertender what he recommended and unsurprisingly, he recommended their white. Lincoln ordered the same white ale and it remained in his mind as something special.
These separate experiences with white-style beers lead Gordon and Brad’s desire to brew White when Funkwerks first began. Over the years the recipe has changed, the beer has come and gone and come again—but it has always been called White. “White beers are generally difficult to brew because you want them to be balanced, drinkable, and subtle,” explains Schuck. “We’ve made a White beer since we first opened, changing the recipe every time, trying to brew something that gives us that same feeling that we felt with our white beer experiences.” Brad Lincoln adds, “White is our Everest of beers; each time, we have gotten closer to the summit. It’s now, after almost a decade of working on this beer, that we may have finally conquered it.”

FORT COLLINS, CO — Funkwerks is excited to announce the release of the latest iteration of their Winky’s Snack Pack. In addition to the new line up of beers, new Winky’s Snack Packs sport refreshed, innovative packaging complete with new graphics, punch out coasters on the sides of the box, limited edition stickers, and discount codes for Winky’s Warehouse.
“We’re so excited about this 12 pack for several reasons,” explains Funkwerks’ Co-Founder, Brad Lincoln. “Deceit and White are two exclusive release beers that we’ve worked on perfecting since the early days of Funkwerks. We also love the idea of interactive packaging, so we incorporated coasters into the 12-pack allowing consumers to punch out the coasters from its side and get a little extra use from the packaging before all the cardboard gets recycled.”

ABOUT DECEIT
Funkwerks’ interpretation of a Belgian-style golden ale, Deceit is deceptively palatable. The alcohol content is deceptively masked by bold fruit and spice characteristics contributed by our unique Belgian yeast strain. This award-winning beer (2012 GABF® Gold, 2014 World Beer Cup® Silver, 2016 World Beer Cup® Bronze) is full of complexity and bright carbonation leading to a dry finish. 8.5% ABV.
ABOUT WHITE
This Belgian-Style Wit is refreshing and crisp. The opaque pale color and creamy white head result from ample amounts of wheat used in the recipe. The addition of raw oats gives a smooth mouthfeel yet finishes dry. This thirst-quenching brew was spiced with orange zest, coriander, and chamomile to build on the character of the Belgian yeast. 4.8% ABV.
ABOUT WINKY’S WAREHOUSE
Funkwerks has been hard at work expanding brewery merchandise this year including apparel, glassware, gift cards, and new bottle openers made locally by taproom regular, Cody Trigg— all found on Winky’s Warehouse, the brewery’s online store. Funkwerks Rolls Out New Winky's Snack Pack
Funkwerks has a new mixed 12-pack out that includes Saison, Raspberry Provincial, and two limited, seasonal offerings: White and Boysenberry Provincial.
FORT COLLINS, CO— Funkwerks has a new mixed 12-pack out that includes Saison, Raspberry Provincial, and two limited, seasonal offerings: White and Boysenberry Provincial. Winky's Snack Pack was created to give beer lovers a taste of what Funkwerks is all about. In this case you get two sessionable, tart ales (Raspberry and Boysenberry) and two crisp, bright Belgian style ales (Saison and White).
Winky's Snack Packs are available at Funkwerks' Fort Collins tasting room and at select liquor stores in Colorado, Arizona, Texas, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota. Here are the specs on each of the beers:
SAISON, Belgian-Style Ale • 6.8%
It wouldn’t be a Funkwerks mixed 12 pack without their famed Saison. Well, it would be, but we’re really glad it’s included. The beer that started it all, Saison was born from backyard test batches and eventually grew into the Great American Beer Festival® Gold Medal-winner you taste today. The house yeast used is the star ingredient imparting light spicy notes of pepper, ginger and refreshing fruit flavors of tangerine, pare, and passion fruit.
RASPBERRY PROVINCIAL, Sour Ale Brewed with Raspberries • 4.2%
This Great American Beer Festival® -winning beer has generous amounts of raspberries added after fermentation. Tart and refreshing, Funkwerks’ Raspberry Provincial packs a strong citrusy berry aroma of tart raspberries and lemon zest with a sweet, balanced finish. Raspberry was the first of the Funkwerks Provincial series and has since been followed by an array of one-off fruited variants, including Apricot, Blueberry, and Pineapple Provincial.
BOYSENBERRY PROVINCIAL, Sour Ale Brewed with Boysenberries • 4.2%
New for 2018, Funkwerks continues their Provincial series with this purple-hued beauty. A cross between raspberries and blackberries, boysenberries provide a sweet yet tart flavor with juicy aroma to this light, bright, and tart sour ale. Boysenberry Provisional uses a hefty dose of fresh puree during fermentation to capture its juicy flavors and transport drinkers to a sunny day of berry picking on the farm. Winky's Snack Packs are the only option for purchasing packaged Boysenberry Provincial— it is not available in 6-packs.
WHITE, Belgian-Style White Ale • 4.9%
Refreshing, crisp, and available only in Winky’s Snack Pack. This Belgian White uses ample amounts of wheat along with raw oats for a brilliant opaque body, creamy white head, and a smooth mouthfeel while maintaining a dry finish. Delicately spiced with orange zest, coriander, and chamomile to support the character of the Belgian yeast, this brew is the perfect thirst-quencher for the summer and the perfect addition to Winky’s Snack Pack.

Intentional Brett, Nordic Farmhouse Saison, and Piña Collaba— Beers You've Got To Try at the 5th Annual Collaboration Festival
Collaboration Fest sports more beers brewed with craft malt this year than ever before.
Collaboration Festival 2017, photo courtesy The Brewtography Project
Named America's most creative beer festival by Food & Wine, Collaboration Fest is back for the fifth year offering more beers brewed with craft malt than ever before.
More than 10 collaborations were made with Root Shoot Malting Company’s brewery partners crafted beers with Loveland-grown and malted barley for this year’s Collaboration Fest. These beers include Ursula Brewery's and Westbound & Down Brewing Company's Farmhouse IPA that was brewed using 100 percent Root Shoot malts and Citra, Moutere, and Loral Cryo hops; and two hazy IPAs by Lost Highway Brewing Company, with Berthoud Brewing and Peacemaker Brewing, respectively.
Plot your beer festival map. Taste these projects before they're gone...
Strange Craft + Freetail Brewing Co.
Strange Craft got the Collab Fest ball rolling early, the day after GABF to be exact. Jason Davis, the Director of Brewing Ops at Freetail Brewing stuck around after the festival for Denver’s first snow day of the season to help brew what will go down in history as Strange Craft’s first intentional Brett beer. Don’t ask about the unintentional ones. StrangeTail Seven is a malt-forward English IPA was finished in a Red Wine barrels inoculated with a different variety of Brettanomyces in each barrel.
Lone Tree Brewing Company + Cannonball Creek Brewing Co.
Craft malt liquor— it’s all the rage right now. And Collab Fest participants will get to taste one of the finest, crafted by the Billy Dee fans over at Lone Tree Brewing Company with their friends and fellow 40-lovers Cannonball Creek Brewing. This tall beauty was brewed with a traditional grain bill consisting of mostly pilsner malt paired with flaked corn, flaked rice and some dextrose sugar to lighten the body of the beer. A massive amount of Hallertau Blanc and Vic Secret hops went into this boil and asa dry hops, which made this malt liquor as "juicy' as your favorite hazy IPA. Weighing in at 7.6 percent ABV and 35 IBU, this beer pushes the envelope of what a malt liquor can be.
Station 26 + Sleeping Giant Brewing Company, Wibby Brewing
Station 26 Brewing Co. collaborated with Sleeping Giant to create Nordic Farmhouse Tripel Double IPA brewed with White Wheat, Pilsner, Vienna, and CaraBelge malt, Candi Sugar, and hopped with Cascade, Citra, and Mandarina Bavaria.
Station 26 has also collaborated with Longmont-based Wibby Brewing to craft a Biere de Mars with the perfect balance of malt, hops, and an Inland Island yeast induced spiciness. Station 26 founder, Justin Baccary, suggested the idea of using a French Ale strain from Inland Island and Ryan Wibby was excited about using a different yeast strain and brewing with some more interesting, aromatic hops making this a truly collaborative and unique drinking experience.

Bonfire Brewing + Zuni Street Brewing, Invasive Species Brewing
There’s a childhood story— well, a lot of them— behind this collaboration brew. “We all grew up together,” says Jim Rabun who brews for Bonfie Brewing, “and so it’s been great to get back together with TJ and Willy and come up with a beer inspired by all of us.” This beer is kind of like a light Porter, or a dark Belgian recipe, brewed with chocolate malt from Proximity Malting and fermented with Zuni's house Belgian yeast strain. “We decided on this beer because we are into brewing dark beers and Zuni is great at Belgian's so we decided to combine to two together,” adds Rabun.
Bonfire also worked with Florida based Invasive Species Brewing on a Hazy Piña Colada IPA, appropriately named Piña Collaba. This lighter bodied IPA displays the tropical flavors from Denali and Motueka hops, Pineapple, Coconut, Passionfruit, and an addition of Lactose for more mouthfeel and increased sweetness.
Ska Brewing + Ratio Beerworks
From the hearts of a bunch of punks who love great music and great beer comes this new twist on a White IPA. Magnetic North Norwegian White IPA hits with a classic wheat base, dry hopped with Mandarina Bavaria and Amarillo. The Nordic Farmhouse yeast strain gives notes of orange with a dry finish to this bright, citrusy, making Magnetic North a true Spring crusher.
Holly Gerard shared her Magnetic North brew day shots on her badass beertography blog and Instagram feed, Aperture of Ales. Check them out here.
Funkwerks + New Image Brewing Co.
Meet Arnie, a Kettle Sour with black tea and lemon peel. This beer will cleanse your palate after a long day of diverse flavors. Don’t wait until the end of the fest to get it, though!
Eddyline Brewery + High Alpine Brewing Co.
High Stoke Scotch Ale is a collaboration between Eddyline Brewery and High Alpine Brewing Company. A big malty nose gives way to a very slight herbal hop aroma. Rich caramel malt flavors dominate the palate, finishing with the slightest smoke impression. Mouth feel has a soft tactile feel on the tongue. Deliciously drinkable and gets even better as it warms in the glass.
Strange Craft + Fiction Beer Company
The Stranger Than Fiction is a strong Saison was brewed with oats and spelt before it fermented with a blend of Strange Craft's house Belgian yeast and Brettanomyces and barrel aged on plums and blackberries. See what they did there?
Strange Craft + Metropolitan State University
Strange Craft also brewed a third Collab Fest beer with Metropolitan State University creating Nitro Raspberry Porter, a traditional English Porter finished on Raspberries.
