Lone Tree Brewing and Odell Brewing Collaborate on American IPA to Support CancerBlows

LONE TREE, CO — Earlier this month Lone Tree Brewing Company and Odell Brewing Co. collaborated on a big, juicy American IPA brewed with Chinook, Simcoe®, and Mosaic hops to support CancerBlows, an organization that supports the Ryan Anthony Foundation.

This limited brew will be available at the Brews 4 CancerBlows five-course beer pairing dinner on Friday, July 8th at Lone Tree Brewing Company at 6pm. Ryan Anthony, founder of CancerBlows and principal trumpet of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, will make a special appearance at this event. Tickets cost $65 per person. They can be purchased at Lone Tree Brewing Company or online at squareup.com/store/lone-tree-brewing-company by Friday, July 1st. More than half of the ticket proceeds will benefit Cancer Blows.

The following day, Lone Tree Brewing Company will host the Brews 4 CancerBlows event where guests can find the new IPA on draft, as well as a musical performance by The Bob Montgomery/Al Hermann Quintet featuring Al Hood and Mass Hipsteria, outdoor games, hourly prizes, and food from the Gusto’s Kitchen food truck. In addition to the customary Lone Tree Brewing Company Charity of the Month tasting room sales donation, CancerBlows will receive $1 for each collaboration beer sold on Saturday, July 9. This event begins at 11am.

“We chose CancerBlows as our July Charity of the Month not only because Ryan Anthony is a dear friend to LTBC, but also because we whole-heartedly believe in his passion for moving people through music,” says Christine West, Lone Tree’s Charity Coordinator. “We wanted to have a small part in supporting someone that has truly dedicated his life to raising awareness and funding to hopefully some day soon find a cure for Multiple Myeloma.”

ABOUT CANCERBLOWS

In 2013 43-year-old Dallas Symphony Orchestra trumpeter Ryan Anthony was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a terminal bone marrow cancer that typically appears in patients aged 70 and older. Ryan’s musical community rallied around him and when they offered support, he jokingly replied that “we’ll all play a concert when I am healthy again and we’ll call it 'Cancer Blows'”.  Ryan is now in remission, and the joke morphed into The Ryan Anthony Foundation, who in 2015 put on CancerBlows, a once-in-a-lifetime musical event bringing together the most famous trumpet players in the world. The event raised more than $1 million with all of the net proceeds donated to the Baylor Health Care Research Foundation and Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation that work toward a cure for cancer. Barrels & Bottles Brewery Announces New Head Brewer Cory Carvatt

GOLDEN, CO — Barrels & Bottles Brewery is proud to announce Cory Carvatt as its new Head Brewer. Carvatt joined the company in November 2015, and has since created several new beers that are now Barrels & Bottles in-house staples like the Orange Creamsicle Ale, a Blonde Ale brewed with orange peel and vanilla beans.

Carvatt came to Barrels & Bottles Brewery from the brewing team by way of beertending staff at Dry Dock Brewing Company. While brewing there he attended the American Brewer's Guild.

“I fell in love with wine and beer while working for my parents at their liquor store,” says Carvatt. “Left with the opportunity to go to New Zealand to work a summer internship at a wine vineyard or interview for a beertending gig at Dry Dock, I decided beer was my future.”

Learn more about Cory’s brewing story on Tuesday, March 22 at Barrels & Bottles’ Meet The Brewer Night for Colorado Craft Beer Week. From 4 to 8pm, the brewpub is pouring complimentary five-ounce tastes of house beers. There are more details about this event on the brewery’s Facebook page.
